Retro3D Prop Setup

The Unity package works in Unity 6 (URP). If you are using an older version of Unity, another render pipeline (Built-in, HDRP), or experience issues with the Unity package, you can use the FBX files instead. When importing the FBX files, meshes, materials and textures are set up automatically. Texture settings and collision need a few manual steps. Please refer to the additional documentation included with the pack.

1. How_To_Import_FBX_Unity.txt
Instructions on how to import FBX files into Unity.

2. Material_README.txt
A reference list showing which textures are used by each material and whether any special settings are required.
(Textures are connected automatically. Check this file if you encounter a material with missing textures.)

3. Manual_Setup.txt
A list of materials that require manual setup, such as cutout materials, because these settings are not transferred through FBX.
If the list in this file is empty, no manual setup is required.

Material_README.txt
This file lists which textures are used by each material and whether any
special settings are required.
Textures are automatically linked when importing FBX files, so this document
is for reference only. Check it if any materials are missing their textures.

How to read the list

  • Format: Material / Texture File / Setting
    Example: Sento_Water / T_Water_Bath.png / Transparent (alpha 0.60)

What the settings mean

  • Blank: A standard material (texture -> Base Map). No additional setup
    required.

  • Transparent: A see-through material. Usually set up automatically on
import. If it looks opaque, see Manual_Setup.txt.

  • Cutout: A material that uses texture alpha to cut out shapes (such as
decals). Requires manual setup. See Manual_Setup.txt.

  • Emissive: A glowing material. Set up automatically on import. The number
    indicates the glow intensity.

If a texture is missing

  1. Select the material in the Project window.

  2. Find the material's texture file in the list, then drag the texture from
the Textures folder into the Base Map slot in the Inspector.
